What is Planet Venus?
Venus is the second planet after Mercury from the sun, it is our closest planetary neighbor. Venus are spinning in the opposite direction most planets do, it also has thick atmosphere which can trap heat in a runaway greenhouse effect, making it the hottest planet, it’s surface temperature are hot enough to melt an iron. Venus is slightly smaller than Earth, it roughly the same size as Earth. Venus is 108 million km from the sun, sunlight takes 6 minutes to reach Venus. It can have a complete rotation in 243 Earth days, the longest days among the nine planets in our solar system. Venus makes a complete orbit around the sun in 225 Earth days, and Venus has no moons.
Why Planet Venus is named Venus?
Venus is named for the ancient Roman goddess of love and beauty, the counterpart to the Greek goddess Aphrodite.
